Kate Moss Tells Us What She Really Does On Holiday

Kate Moss made headlines earlier this week when she was reportedly escorted off her easyJet flight for "disruptive" behaviour, so we chatted to the model about what she really does on her holidays and how she really feels about flying.

Kate, you’re clearly an expert when it comes to travelling, what’s your best tip?

Always carry some cash on you! Also, get out of the hotel. Go to the local village… go to the local places. Lots of people go on holiday and don’t leave their hotel. I think you should go experience the place you’re in.

Do you mind flying or does it ever make you nervous?

I love it – I find it really relaxing. No phone, a movie, a glass of wine and some salad. Perfect!

Are there any creature comforts you always take when travelling?

I always take a cashmere blanket and I have family pictures in my passport holder.

What’s your secret for beating jet-lag?

Kate Moss in her latest San Tropez campaign.

I always go to sleep on the plane and then try and stay up whenever I get where I’m going to and get straight into the time zone you’re in.

You’ve got five minutes to pack – what do you throw in your suitcase?

Black jeans, grey jeans, t-shirts, a jacket and a dress for the night time. Some flats, one pair of heels and some sunglasses too. If its summer, a pair of shorts and bikini. I plus always have a travel bag ready to go in case of emergencies that has all the beauty essentials and my passport.

Are you an excess baggage type of girl who ends up using all of Jamie’s allowance too?

I like to get out a bunch of stuff and then edit it down and pack. I don’t think I massively over pack, but I’m also not a one case kind of girl!

If the airline lost your suitcase what’s the first thing you’d go out and buy?

It depends where I’m going, but if it was somewhere sunny like Ibiza I would go get a bikini, a pair of shorts, a t-shirt and some sandals. If it was somewhere a bit colder like New York, I’d go and get jeans, a jacket and a pair of Louboutins.

What’s your go-to post-beach evening look?

In the evening I normally go for long dresses with flats – heels don’t work on an island. I prefer to keep my hair natural and just pull it up. When it comes to make-up I also like to go quite natural, I’ll use the St.Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil for a glow, it gives my skin a subtle golden shimmer which looks great for a night out – plus it covers up a multitude of sins and it also makes you look more defined. Then I’ll just use a bit of mascara and finish with a strong lip.

How far in advance do you plan your wardrobe?

I don’t really plan my wardrobe, I’ve collected it over the years – I have my favourite bits that I always take. I do buy new bikinis every year though.

Favourite bikini of all time?

I love Eres bikinis. They fit really nicely and they aren’t really affected by the sea salt or chlorine in the pool – they’re really well made.
